The Ridge Meadows Child and Youth Mental Health team is a close-knit, creative, and collaborative group of ten clinicians dedicated to supporting children and youth with moderate to severe mental health challenges. Together, they make a meaningful impact by improving the mental health and well-being of the young people they serve.
As a Psychologist, you’ll provide direct clinical treatment and conduct standardized psychological assessments to support children and youth with mental health needs. Your work will play a vital role in addressing the growing demand for mental health services for young people, helping them thrive. This position offers the opportunity to grow and learn as part of a multidisciplinary, community-based team committed to making a meaningful difference.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Ph.D. in Clinical/Applied Psychology, Counselling Psychology, OR PsyD.
- Registered with, or eligible for registration with, the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC).
- Note: If you are registered as a Psychologist in another province, equivalencies for out-of-province applicants may be considered by the CHCPBC. Please contact the College for registration requirements in BC.
- Internship:
- Completion of a pre- or post-doctoral internship of 1,600 hours in a child and youth mental health or hospital setting, specializing in formal psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders.
- Experience:
- Minimum one year of full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, providing a wide range of community-based mental health services.
- Experience in clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology.
Preference May Be Given To Applicants Who:
- Have 2+ years of experience working with children, youth, and their families, providing a wide range of community-based mental health services.
- Have experience using Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).
- Have experience or knowledge of Child and Youth Mental Health Services in British Columbia.
- Self-identify as having Indigenous heritage (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.
